7 Days in Captivity

March 5, 2008

We’ve been asked about the conditions Charlie is being held in.  The last week he’s been in Mile 2 Prison on the edge of Banjul, Gambia’s capital.  He’s in a cell with another six guys.  There’s one mattress and conditions are cramped and poor.  There is food, but it’s not good.  Charlie is bearing up.  He’s being incredibly strong and brave, but he is worried sick about his family and wants to get out.  The good news is that his health is bearing up and the company is doing all it can to try to get through the Gambian hurdles to pay the $450,000 bail and free Charlie for the weekend.
